oh the places you'll go: sweet afton

if you live in the new york city area {astoria, especially} this is a must.

sweet afton, a new bar located off of the 30th avenue stop in astoria, is prohibition chic and quite the new hotspot. i am pretty much here all the time, because the vibe is great and the drinks are even greater.

recommend: spicy cherry jalapeno margarita...
but they also have old school drinks such as an old-fashioned, sidecars, martinis, etc.

and a must-order: their fried pickles. they buy local pickles from mcclure's pickles of brooklyn, fry them in dough, and serve with a chipotle mayo. unreal.

just so happy astoria has so much going on! i lived there for so long {practically still live there since im there every week} and it's just such a great place. i know people love brooklyn, but im telling you, within the next few years you will be hearing about astoria! {i mean, we have the original german beergarden! you can't beat that!}
